Barby Collins was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. She has had a love and passion for music since she was 3 years old. Barby formed her first rock band at the age of 16.

 

Heavily influenced by Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt and Olivia-Newton-John she has been singing covers in various musical projects over the years, as well as writing poetry and lyrics. However, she did not know how to play an instrument. She decided to purchase a guitar and teach herself to play. For three years every single day she was determined to write music and practice honing the ability to play the guitar well enough to accompany her music.

 

Barby decided it was time to record a demo and take a random trip to Nashville in the fall of 2013, just to find out what the folks in Nashville thought of her vocals and original songs. Upon arriving in Nashville, she spent the first night in "The Bluebird Cafe" showcasing her first song titled " Did it feel like you were Dreamin".

While in Nashville, Barby met up  with some very influential people, one of whom was Dan Schafer. Dan has worked with the likes of Shania Twain, George Jones, Barbara Mandrell & Lorrie Morgan. After listening to Barby's demo he offered to reproduce it, in a Nashville Studio.

Barby came home and then returned to Nashville 8 weeks later to record. The result of that recording, was a 5 song EP That was released on  I-tunes January 2014. 

 

In September 2014 she had her first magazine article in "Niagara Life Magazine".

On September 3rd she was "Triple nominated" at the "Niagara Music Awards" for "Songwriter of the Year" "Song of the Year" & "Female Vocalist of the Year"

 

In February 2016 she made her first debut on 89.1 FM radio " Todays Best Country"

In 2017 & 2018 & 2019 Barby worked on new material for a second Ep, as well as toured with her band  playing local gigs, private functions.

Barby is also the proud owner of The Rock & Roll Hair Studio. She is a hairstylist as well as a singer & songwriter. She loves to sing to her guests from time to time and have fun making all her guests hair look great!
